Are You an Independent Author? We Support Your Work.
Publishing a book on your own takes courage, patience, and a frankly unreasonable amount of stubbornness.
First, you write it.
Then you edit it.
Then you edit it again because the manuscript you were absolutely certain was finished somehow still contains forty-seven things that need fixing.
Then come the cover, formatting, ISBN, Amazon, KDP, platforms, file types, descriptions, keywords, categories, pricing, social media and, eventually, the inevitable question:
Who the hell is going to read it now?
That is where we want to help.
At YennyAstrid.com, we are creating a space for independent authors publishing outside the traditional big-publisher system who need something that is often surprisingly difficult to find: visibility, readers, and a review written after someone has actually read the book.
Whether you published through Amazon KDP, a small press, a digital platform or entirely on your own, you are welcome to submit your work.
If your book is published and you want us to discover it, this space is for you.

Good Books Are Being Published Every Day — and Many Go Unnoticed
Publishing has never been more accessible. Oddly enough, getting a book discovered has never been harder.
Every day, new novels, poetry collections, essays, memoirs, thrillers, romances, horror stories, fantasy novels, nonfiction books and works that barely fit into any category at all are released.
That is a good thing. More people can tell their stories without waiting years for someone to give them permission.
But it also means every new book is competing with thousands of others for a few seconds of attention.
Major publishers have publicity teams, distribution networks, media contacts, advertising budgets and guaranteed visibility.
Independent authors often have a laptop, a Canva account, three Google tabs open, seventeen unfinished tutorials, and a suspicious amount of faith that the algorithm will eventually show mercy.
We understand.
That is why we want to build a different kind of showcase. Not one that promises miracles. One that helps readers discover books worth finding.
What Do We Do With Submitted Books?
We receive submissions from independent authors, review the information provided and select books that can enter our reading schedule.
When a book is selected, we read and evaluate it editorially.
If we decide to feature it on YennyAstrid.com, the review may include information about the book, the author, genre and themes, an editorial synopsis, our evaluation, strengths, critical observations when relevant, other books by the author and official purchase links.
Selected writers may also become part of our future Independent Authors directory, where readers can discover new voices and explore available reviews.
The goal is not to manufacture praise.
The goal is to connect books with readers.
This Is Not a Review Factory
The internet already has enough places where every book is “unforgettable,” “essential,” “a masterpiece,” “transformative,” and, naturally, “a journey that will change your life.”
Sometimes you begin to suspect nobody made it past the back cover.
We want to do something different.
If we review a book, we want to have read it.
Apparently that idea is revolutionary enough these days that it needs to be stated explicitly.
We are not interested in publishing fifty reviews a week based on Amazon descriptions.
We would rather publish fewer reviews and make them worth reading.
What Do You Need to Send?
To submit your book you need an author account with a confirmed email address. Then you complete the submission form with information about you and your work.
Required about you: name or pen name, email address, country and a biography (feel free to include your previous books and current projects there).
Required about the book: title, genre, language, page count, synopsis, why you wrote it and what you would like readers to know about it. Plus the book cover and the complete manuscript as a PDF or EPUB.
Optional: subtitle, publication date, publisher or platform, ISBN, official purchase link, website and social media.
At the end you confirm that you are the author or are authorized to submit the work, allow private use of the file to read and evaluate it, and accept the submission terms.
But we are interested in more than a technical profile.
That is why both questions about the book are required. Where did the idea come from? What did you want to say? What was the hardest part? Was there a point when you thought you would never finish it? What do you hope a reader finds when they reach the final page?
That is usually where the interesting story begins.
To Review the Book, We Need the Book
The complete file is required.
You may submit PDF or EPUB.
The file will be used only for private reading, evaluation and preparation of a possible review. It will not be published, distributed, sold or shared publicly.
And it will not mysteriously end up wandering around the internet under a filename such as book_final_really_final_THIS_ONE_7.pdf.
Without the complete book, we cannot evaluate it.
We can read. Telepathy is still under development.
Does Submission Guarantee a Review?
No. And we prefer to make that clear from the beginning.
Submitting your work does not mean it will automatically appear on the site.
We will review each proposal and select books that fit our editorial schedule.
Selection may depend on the quality of the submission, relevance to the site, reading availability, number of submissions received, editorial interest and completion status of the book.
A book can be good and still not be selected.
We simply cannot read everything. Pretending otherwise would be an excellent way to eventually hate books, which we would rather avoid.
Will the Review Be Positive?
We cannot promise that.
We can promise that it will be honest.
If we discover an extraordinary story, we will say so. If the book has clear strengths, we will highlight them. If we find important weaknesses, we may discuss those as well.
Always with respect for the person who spent months or years creating the work.
Critiquing a book is not the same as attacking its author. And supporting independent writers does not mean pretending everything is perfect.
An opinion has value precisely because it was not purchased.
You Cannot Buy Stars Here
Submitting a book for editorial consideration does not allow anyone to purchase a positive rating.
We do not accept payment to change opinions. We do not sell five-star reviews. We do not turn criticism into praise because somebody pays more.
If the site later offers advertising placements, sponsored interviews, promotional campaigns, banners or commercial collaborations, those will be clearly identified as commercial content.
Promotion is promotion. Editorial opinion is editorial opinion.
Mixing the two destroys reader trust. And without trust, a review is worth nothing.
Is There a Fee to Submit a Book?
No.
Submitting a book for editorial consideration is free.
That does not mean every submission will be selected. It simply means authors do not pay to enter the evaluation process.
What Genres Do We Accept?
We want the selection to remain broad.
We may consider psychological thrillers, crime fiction, mystery, romance, horror, fantasy, science fiction, contemporary fiction, historical fiction, poetry, essays, philosophy, memoirs, biography, personal development, spirituality, history, nonfiction, young adult literature, humor, literary journalism and other genres.
And yes: six months from now someone will probably invent another category and we will have to add it.
Writers have an annoying habit of continuing to create things.
What Do We Not Accept?
A submission may be rejected if the file is incomplete, the work is still clearly a draft, there is insufficient information about the author, the file cannot be opened properly, there are clear signs of plagiarism, the material is primarily promotional rather than a genuine book, the content is illegal, the submission exists solely to obtain SEO backlinks or the work does not fit the editorial direction of the site.
We may also decline a book because of limited reading capacity.
That is not a judgment on the value of the work. It is an editorial decision.
How Does the Process Work?
- Submit your book: complete the form and upload the cover and complete PDF or EPUB.
- We receive your submission: your book enters our system along with your author information and files.
- We review the proposal: we check that the submission is complete and perform an initial editorial review.
- Selected books enter the reading list: chosen titles are marked “Currently Reading.”
- We read the book: yes, pages, chapters, beginning and ending. That old-fashioned and apparently radical concept of reading before having an opinion.
- We prepare the review: if selected for publication, we write the editorial review.
- We publish: the review appears on YennyAstrid.com and may also be included within its genre section.
- We let you know: you receive a notification once the review is published.
A Space for Independent Authors
This project is meant to become more than a collection of reviews.
We want to create a place where readers can discover independent writers.
Author profiles may include author photograph, biography, country, genres, published books, available reviews, website, social media and official purchase links.
Over time, we want this section to become a library of new voices.
A place where someone comes looking for one book and leaves having discovered a writer they had never heard of before.
That is the point.
Why Are We Doing This?
Because publishing independently requires doing jobs you never expected to learn.
You begin wanting to write a novel.
You end up learning about EPUB files, cover resolution, print margins, metadata, SEO, advertising, social media, pricing, taxes, websites, Amazon, algorithms, and something called bleed that sounds significantly more alarming than it actually is.
Then, after all that, someone asks: “So, are you already writing the next one?”
Of course. Why wouldn’t you be?
We understand the process.
We cannot guarantee success. We cannot guarantee sales. We cannot guarantee that ten thousand people will discover your book tomorrow.
But we can offer something concrete: we can read it, evaluate it seriously, and give it another opportunity to reach readers.
The Value of a Real Review
A review should not exist only to make the author feel good.
It should also help the reader.
Someone opening a review wants to know what the book is really about, who it is for, what it does well, what kind of reader might enjoy it, what the tone is and what they should expect.
When a review answers those questions, it becomes useful to both sides: the reader and the writer.
That is the kind of content we want to build.
Your Book Could Find Its Next Reader Here
Maybe it will be one person. Maybe ten. Maybe hundreds.
The internet works in strange ways. A story can remain unnoticed for months and then suddenly reach exactly the person who needed to read it.
We cannot control that. But we can open another door.
If you wrote the book, if you finished it, if you published it and if you survived the process, then you can submit it.
We will do the next part: read it.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is submitting my book free?
- Yes. There is no charge to submit a work for editorial consideration.
- Do I have to send the entire book?
- Yes. We need the complete PDF or EPUB.
- Do you accept unpublished manuscripts?
- We primarily prioritize published or soon-to-be-published books. An unpublished work may be considered if a final version and clear publication date exist.
- How long does the process take?
- It depends on the number of submissions and our reading schedule. We do not promise artificial turnaround times. Reading a book still takes longer than reading its synopsis.
- Can I submit more than one book?
- Yes. Each book should be submitted separately.
- Do you accept books in Spanish?
- Yes. Books may be considered in Spanish or English depending on editorial availability.
- Can I ask you to change a review?
- You may request corrections to objective factual errors. Editorial opinions are not changed simply because the author disagrees with them.
- Will you publish my PDF or EPUB?
- No. The submitted file is used only for private reading and evaluation.
- Can I withdraw my book?
- Yes. You may request removal from consideration before the review is published.
- Can I submit a revised edition?
- Yes. If the book has been substantially revised, please indicate this clearly when submitting.

One Last Thing
Publishing independently does not make anyone a second-class writer.
It simply means the road was different.
Some writers arrive with a publisher behind them.
Others arrive carrying an EPUB file, a cover redesigned forty times and enough stubbornness to keep asking the world to read what they wrote.
Both wrote a book.
And that deserves, at the very least, someone willing to open the first page.
Welcome. We want to discover your story.
