1. Who is responsible for your data

2. Legal framework

This processing is governed by Colombia’s Constitution, Statutory Law 1581 of 2012 on personal data protection, Decree 1074 of 2015, which compiles Decree 1377 of 2013, and any rules that amend or supplement them.

3. Data collected and why

Browsing this site does not automatically collect personal information. The site processes information you voluntarily provide through these channels.

The contact form asks for your name, email address, reason for contacting, message and, optionally, your organization or media outlet. It is used only to respond to professional inquiries such as interviews, events, bookshops, rights and collaborations. The message is sent by email to the author and is not stored in the site’s database or analytics tools.

The newsletter asks for your email address, the date and the version of the consent text you accepted. It uses double opt-in: no further email is sent until you confirm. Once confirmed, you receive a personal download link for the free digital edition of Sobreviviendo a mis muertos. The download works while your subscription is active; the site does not keep its own download log. Every email has an immediate unsubscribe link. This literary list is separate from other databases, including Anchetas Medellín’s customer list.

WhatsApp buttons open a conversation with a prewritten message, such as the book and format you are interested in. The site does not receive or store that message or your phone number. WhatsApp’s terms also apply to that conversation. Information you share there, such as your name, city or shipping address, is used only to coordinate your order.

4. Analytics

Google Analytics measures page visits, book interest and referral sources using its own cookies. It does not load until you accept the cookie notice. You can accept or decline with equal ease; declining does not affect how the site works. Your choice is saved in your browser and can be changed by clearing this site’s stored data.

Vercel Web Analytics also counts visits in aggregate, including pages, country and device type, without cookies or identifying visitors. When Google Analytics is enabled, events—not identities—are recorded. Your name, email, phone number, address and message contents are never sent to analytics.

5. Service providers

The site relies on Vercel for hosting, Resend for email and subscriber-list management, Sanity for editorial content, and Google for analytics. Links to WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram take you to Meta services, which process data under their own terms. Their servers may be outside Colombia, mainly in the United States, so limited international transfers may occur as needed to provide each service.

The reader list is never sold, rented or shared with advertisers.

6. Your rights

Under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, you may learn about, update and correct your data; request proof of consent; ask how it has been used; withdraw consent and request deletion when there is no legal duty to retain it; and file a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC). Contact the author by email or through the contact form. Inquiries are answered within ten business days and claims within fifteen business days, as required by law. To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the link in any email.

7. Retention and security

Contact-form data is retained only as long as needed to handle the inquiry and any legally required period. Newsletter data is retained while the subscription is active. Unneeded data is securely deleted unless the law requires retention. The site uses encrypted HTTPS connections, and access to tools containing data is restricted to the author.

8. Children

This site is intended mainly for adults because of the language and subject matter in some content. It does not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated when necessary. The current version is the one published on this page.
